Cast shot WS special hardness is a steel shot shot designed for surface hardening in the aviation industry, railway and automotive industry.
Product name | Chem. compound | Medium hardness | Grading | Minimum true gravity measured by alcohol displacement method | Variation in diameter, mm | Microstructure |
Cast steel shot WS | Carbon 0.8-1.2%, Silicon 0.4-1.2%, Manganese 0.6-1.2%, Phosphorus ≤ 0.05%, Sulfur ≤ 0.05% | Special HRC 550-630 HV (52.3-56.8 HRC), 630-720 HV (56.8-61 HRC) | According to TU 4196-001-78730722-2010 | ≥ 7.4 | 0.18-2.36 | completely homogeneous and fine-grained martensite |
The size of the granules affects the quality and speed of processing. The more particles contained in a kilogram of product, the higher the surface cleaning rate: per unit time, a greater number of shot granules come into contact with the cleaned surface, but the shot must be of sufficient size to fulfill the set technological task.
